Abit like first impressions, the first days of a new year set the tone for the months ahead.
At the beginning of every year the team at Australia In Style chooses 2 of our core values to remind ourselves of ‘ why we do what we do.’
The challenge is to find ways for us to experience these values for ourselves.
For 2022 we chose the values of ‘ Inclusion ‘ and ‘ Excellence ‘‘.
How did we manifest these in 2022 ?
For a sense of ‘Excellence‘ we chose to attend the Ashes cricket at SCG. We saw amazing classy cricket – especially from the Australian batsmen. What a treat to experience excellence in action. Seeing the battle between 2 national sides reminded us too of the amount of time and effort that is required to be the best. It takes place behind the scenes , so appears neither obvious nor exciting. However we all know that without it, excellence wont happen.
Sport of Cricket has many sides
The focus on ‘ Inclusion ‘ was equally memorable. It came in a most unusual way. A regular client asked us to transport their selected guests to view the Sydney NYE fireworks. All guests were people who would not readily have access to the city – many had mobility challenges.
By transporting the guests in our wheelchair accessible vehicles the evening began in comfort and with dignity. The weather was perfect , the selected location gave a bird’s eye view of the drama and colour of the night sky as we moved into a new year.
Fun times for all
Everyone was in awe of the fireworks. Passengers and drivers alike started the year with a big smile on their faces!
We hope you have started the year on a positive and uplifting note too – in whatever form that excites and drives you. Whilst we know that life throws us all curved balls , we wish you a year filled with joy, good health and the spirit to meet challenges ahead.
