Accessible Adventures Rio, on Safari & in Sydney

It has been a decade of exciting advances in accessible travel. So many more options for fun and excitement today. So much choice !

We enter 2020 with BIG news on barrier free experiences.

Take a look at the adaptation of travel experiences and the range of information now available.

Many attractions and services have adapted their offerings and become inclusive to all travellers.

Some of our favourites include:

* Wheelchair accessible tour of the Sydney Opera House

* The fascinating Indigenous Heritage Walk of the Royal Botanic Gardens

* For Art Lovers, Art Gallery of NSW offers guided accessible tours.

These experiences are included in our Best of Sydney accessible tour and our Garden and Art Tour

We look forward next month to attending the official launch of beach matt access to the renowned Bondi Beach in Sydney.

This gives direct access to the water’s edge ! There are now a number of Sydney beaches offering either a beach wheelchair ( free when pre booked) or matting down to the surf.

Contact us if you are planning on visiting Sydney and we will be happy to arrange access to the surf, and ,with abit of luck, catch a photo of you and a Bondi lifesaver !

There are now many blogs with tips and ideas for the wheelchair travellers

We particularly enjoy the blogs of wheelchair traveler enthusiast, John Morris. John, who has racked up more than a million miles of travel, writes of his adventures on his website www.wheelchairtravel.org

His stories are filled with hot tips on enjoying travel to the max.

You can read about his travel to the exciting city of Rio in Brazil on his blog.

We also love his tips and ideas for travelling on safari in Kenya.

We have previously mentioned other sites you may find of interest for travel to many parts of the world.

Back here in Sydney, we were excited this year to showcase our accessible tours and charters to global travel operators at Tourism Australia’s ATE ( Australian Tourism Exchange).

To then receive a state award for ‘Excellence in Accessible Tourism’ was a great thrill.

Whilst Sydney and surrounds became international news headlines in December 2019 for the bushfires, this did not stop our intrepid travelling clients.

A visiting family from Singapore, with one member in a wheelchair, enjoyed visiting the Blue Mountains, Hunter valley and discovering the sights of Sydney.

The group also chartered the accessible minibus with a driver to take them to personally selected places – such as factory outlets.
