- Latest news from royal weddings 2011 !

The royal wedding of Prince William and Miss Kate Middleton will be held Friday, April 29, 2011 – Feast of Saint Catherine -  at the historic Westminster Abbey.

A British Monarchy event of this magnitude sets the trend for weddings around the world !

  • What latest royal ideas can you apply to be a princess at your own wedding ?

  • Engagement ring and announcement
  • Costs

Engagement ring and announcement :

The engagement ring, of Kate Middleton is an18 carat blue sapphire.

>>Trend: Be ahead of the trend and consider a blue sapphire – or a coloured stone

The ring is the same as worn by Prince Williams late mother, Princess Diana.

>>Trend: It is now totally acceptable to wear the same ring as a family member – no need to spend on a new one

Both Kate Middleton and Princess Diana opted to match their dresses to their 18 carat blue sapphire engagement ring.

Kate's Issa dress was an updated look from the sapphire blue dress the stylish Princess Diana wore when she and Prince Charles announced their royal engagement in 1981.

>>Trend:  Consider also matching your outfit to your ring at your engagement and  pre wedding family gatherings

By the way, if you're trying to get your hands on the same simple, classy blue dress Kate Middleton wore for the royal engagement announcement, good luck. The dress almost instantly sold out after the future Princess Catherine was photographed in it.

The sapphire dress by Issa London became an instant classic.  "The dress worn by Kate sold out almost immediately. One reason being that the versatility of the pieces means that they can be dressed down for the day and dressed up for special occasions."  The knee-length Issa London dress retails for what's equivalent to $615.  U.S. retailers are already reporting they're being indundated with requests for the now hard-to-find dress.

Costs:

Like you, the families are paying for the wedding – including the wedding dress - following the precedents set by the marriages of Prince and Princess of Wales in 1981 and Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip in 1947.

At least you wont have to pay for security which is estimated to cost up to $ 20 million dollars!
